MARION COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
NOTICE OF ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
FOR VACANCIES ON VOLUNTEER ADVISORY BOARDS |
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners currently has
vacancies on the following volunteer boards:

1. License Review Board/Construction Board
of Adjustments and Appeals:
(1 Full Member/4 Year Term) & (1 Alternate Member/4 Year Term)
Duties/Responsibilities: Investigates and hears complaints regarding
competency of licensed contractors; may suspend or revoke a
contractor's certificate of competency; may issue letters of
reprimand; may authorize Marion County Building Official to withhold
issuance of a building permit based on status of contractor's
license.
2. Well Florida Council
(1 Full Member/1 Provider/unexpired term)
Well Florida Council is a resource for county health departments,
community-based organizations, government agencies and healthcare
facilities. Well Florida is known for producing the county health
needs assessments. Well Florida also partners with organizations to
develop new programs, create Community Health Centers, and obtain
large grants for community based programs. In addition, Well Florida
is an umbrella for a number of non-profits, including: Healthy Start
of North Central Florida, Central Healthy Start, North Central
Florida Ryan White CARE Program, and Rural Health Partnerships of
North Central Florida. Board members oversee Well Florida's budget,
advocate for Well Florida's services and advise County Commissioners
on Health planning for their counties, the region and the state.
Meetings take place at Well Florida Council in Gainesville.
3. Rainbow Lakes Estates MSD Advisory Council
(2 Full member/ three (3) Year Term)
Applicant must be a resident of Rainbow Lakes Estates MSD.
Responsibilities: may participate in preparation of annual budget
request; review and comment on programs, activities, goals and
objectives and make recommendations on these and other issues as
directed by the Board of County Commissioners.

MSTU/Assessment Office, 2710 E. Silver Springs Blvd., or by calling

at 5:00 p.m. The Board of County Commissioners
plans to appoint members on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. |
