WELCOME to the Marion County Board of County
Commissioners Agenda and Video Page! Your participation
in County government is appreciated. All Board meetings
are open to the public and are held on the first and
third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the County
Commission Auditorium at 601 S. E. 25 Avenue.
Placement on the Commission Agenda
Citizens wishing to be placed on the agenda must submit
the request in writing stating the date they wish to
appear and the subject matter to be discussed (County
Commission Policy 93-13). Supporting information or
background data to assist the Commission is also
requested. The request to appear must be submitted to
the County Administrator by Noon, eleven days prior the
next Commission meeting (2nd Friday prior Board meeting
date).

The citizen will be listed under General Public Items
and each citizen will be allotted five minutes for their
presentation unless additional time is granted by the
Chairman. Should the citizen need the use of VCR or
overhead projector, please include this information in
the letter of request to the County Administrator.
Citizens will be notified by the Commission office of
the date and approximate time they will appear before
the Board.
When addressing the Board, please state your name and
address and speak clearly into the microphone. If
distributing additional back up material, please provide
the County Administrator with 10 copies prior to the
beginning of the Commission meeting.
Speaking at Public Hearings: Any member of the public
may participate in discussion held at public hearings.
Discussion is limited to the item as listed on the
Agenda. The Chairman will call for interested parties to
be heard as each item for discussion is introduced.
Those interested are to ask for recognition by coming to
the front of the auditorium and standing at either
speaker's lectern and shall give his/her name, address
and who he/she represents. Public hearings will be duly
advertised according to law.
Meeting Videos
Videos of the Marion County Board of Commissioners
meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the
month. Meetings can be viewed live and are also
available on-line in the video archives within two
business business days of the meeting date. A list of
available meeting videos in the video archives can be
seen by clicking on the Video
Archives button at the top of this page. Videos
available can be listed by selecting the month or year
on the calendars displayed.
It is recommended that Windows Media Player be installed
to view the videos. Windows Media Player is available
for free at
Microsoft.com
It is also recommended that pop-up blocking software on
computers be turned off in order to view the videos. If
this is not done it may be necessary to set the software
to allow downloads.
Televised Board Meetings
The Board meetings are now being televised through
various local cable companies on a taped delay basis
which include:

Channel 9 in the Dunnellon area

Channel 11 in the areas of Spruce Creek North and
South, Live Oak Village, Palm Cay and Foxwood

Channel 12 in Ocala
-
Time Warner cable Channel 17 in the areas of Meadow
Wood Farms, On Top of the World, Hwy 200 corridor,
Marion Oaks, Summerfield, Belleview, Ocklawaha, Salt
Springs, and Fort McCoy.
All of these broadcasts are subject change.
