What is CDBG?

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is an entitlement grant funded by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The goal of the Community Development Block Grant program is to preserve and develop viable urban communities by assisting low/moderate income households through physical development programs that:

  • Provide and sustain decent, safe and affordable housing
  • Create and maintain a suitable living enviroment
  • Expand and retain economic opportunities
