Marion County: Animal Services announces quarterly closure
The Marion County Animal Center and the Neuter Commuter will close for quarterly cleaning, training and maintenance on April 26. The Animal Center will reopen for business on Saturday, April 29, and the Neuter Commuter will resume operation on Thursday, May 4.
Animal Control will continue its regular operations. Residents wishing to report animal-related complaints may call 352-671-8727.
During the Animal Center’s closure, owners of lost pets can view stray animals online, and residents can view animals available for adoption at http://www.marioncountyfl.org/animalservices. This site is updated automatically every hour, even when the shelter is closed.
The activities scheduled during the quarterly closure underscore the county’s commitment to programs geared toward preventing neglect and overpopulation of domesticated animals and to the strategic goal of career development programs.
