Florida Retirement System is a benefit that is offered to Marion
County Board of County Commissioners full-time and part-time employees
at no cost.
New Employee Guidelines for FRS:
Florida Retirement System is notified of all employees eligible for this
benefit through the Marion County Payroll Department
After 30 days of employment all eligible employees will receive a
Retirement Choice Kit sent to their home address.
Once the Kit is received, eligible employees will have until 4pm ET of
the last day of the 5th month following your month of hire to make a
selection of a plan.
This benefit will provide you with two plan options to select from; FRS
Pension Plan FRS Investment Plan.
During the selection period if you have any questions, please do no
hesitate to contact the Human Resources Department at 352-438-2345 but
before you make a retirement choice, be sure to review all the materials
carefully and take advantage of the other resources offered through the
MyFRS Financial Guidance Program such as:
