Software Support

   

The Software Support section consists of Application Services, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Web Services.

 

Application Services is responsible for developing and maintaining in-house applications as well as supporting and maintaining third party software products for various departments of the county.  Support includes, but not limited to, data migration/conversion, customization of reports and screens, training and software installation of products such as CDPlus, Cartegraph and Visibility.  Some of the in-house applications that were developed and are being maintained by this team are the MSTU non-ad valorem assessment management system, the Permit and Contractor license information application and the Solid Waste scale house operator system.  The Database Administrator of this section supports both SQL Server and Oracle Databases.  Currently there are 80 SQL Server Databases and 10 Oracle Databases running on 10 servers.  These databases contain mission critical data supporting the majority of the county departments.

 

Web services hosts, develops and maintains the County’s website and the SharePoint platform.  There are over 900 main  pages on the County website and over 2500 images and documents used as links on the site.  The administration of SharePoint includes routine maintenance, security backup and recovery, and building new SharePoint services sites.  Currently, there are over 340 top level SharePoint Sites being maintained.
