There are many other personal reasons for wanting to volunteer @ your library. If you understand and believe in the mission of your public library, then come and share your time and talent with the Marion County Public Library System. As our county continues to grow so does the need for help with sorting and shelving books, assisting with special programs, keeping informational databases up to date, helping patrons learn computer skills, keeping books in the proper place so they can easily be found, and a hundred other tasks. You could be just the right person to help make a difference just by sharing a little of the biggest asset you possess, your time! Do I need to fill out an application to volunteer at the library?All prospective volunteers must complete an application and be interviewed for any position. They must also pass a background check and a drug screening before working in the library of their choice. Volunteers that are matched up with an opportunity will receive training for the work they will be completing.
