VOLUNTEERS

 

The Parks and Recreation Volunteer Program provides opportunities to help improve and maintain Marion County Parks. As volunteer stewards, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute your knowledge and skills to enhance your communitys recreational experiences.

  • You can help enhance and maintain our public lands through clean-up efforts, planting trees, administrative assistance, monitoring wildlife and other projects.

  • Your volunteer efforts increase public awareness of the importance of protecting our natural resources; generates pride in our park system; and demonstrates a commitment to enhance the quality of our parks.

  • Your volunteer hours may be eligible for high school and college credits.

  • Each volunteer will be issued an official Marion County Parks and Recreation uniform shirt, cap and identification badge to wear while on duty.

 

If you are interested in becoming a Marion County Parks and Recreation Volunteer, please complete an application and return it to the Parks and Recreation Department at 111 S.E. 25th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34471. No experience is necessary just a willingness to contribute your time and expertise.
