Master Gardeners are a group of volunteers who serve under the direction of the Horticulture Extension Agent. Their mission is to educate residents on how to design, plant and care for their plants and landscapes using Florida-Friendly techniques.
Master Gardeners extend information to the community through various mediums including working in the local plant clinic, taking part in a variety of public speaking events, volunteering with 4-H and other youth projects, hosting local plant expos and sales, and maintaining the on-site University of Florida demonstration gardens. The Master Gardener Plant Clinic was established as a service for citizens needing information on landscape, garden, and plant-related issues specific to our region. To contact the Master Gardeners, residents can either call, e-mail, or stop by the office (2232 NE Jacksonville Road, Ocala) Monday-Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
